With the approaching release of Assassin's Creed Unity-- the seventh major installment in the series-- Ubisoft turned to us to promote its first next-gen exclusive title in the franchise. Our task was to develop a year-long campaign, from pre-announce to launch, with a multi-channel communication strategy that would engage, educate and entertain fans.
For the website, we opted for a two-pronged approach that consisted of separate tracks for gameplay information and story background. For the first track, we developed a series of pages that used HTML5 parallax animation, diagrams, and interactive components to show off the new gameplay mechanics, technical features, and scale. For the second track, we developed a series of short interactive stories that weaved together the history of the French Revolution with the world of Assassin's Creed and brought it to life through the use of beautiful concept art. We supported and drove traffic to the website through an extensive social content marketing campaign that adapted our interactive web experiences into hundreds of social media assets optimized for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
